The layout of my college magazine cover is a simple one, it contains only one image which the text then centres around. The colours I used were Blue, White and Black, even though it seperated itself from the colour scheme of the college, I used these colours as they blended well and put together they worked well and complimented each other, but it gave the front cover a cold theme. The image used was of a relitivly low standard, it was cut out of it background rather badly and gave the cover and overall less professional feel and look. The text used was a very urban style that would of related to the students of the college and would help attract them to read it. The clever use of text style and brushes at the base of the page, which advertised an art competiton, helped make the ad look more like an art style which helped with the attarction and the distiction of what the competition would entail, although the downside to the brushes and text is that it was all of one colour, white. This didn't really attract the reader much compared to if I had used a bright colour, this is where I could improve during my final Music Magazine, but using more birght colours and less blacks and whites unless my demographic would like and be attracted to these colours. The text on front covers key topics that students would be interested in such as College events, e.g. college parties, Facebook e.c.t this also helped to attracted the reader as it is what they'd want to read about. The image doesn't fit the overall theme that I went for, as the text and colours e.c.t give a urban theme, the image detracts from that and doesn't compliment the theme and if anything it prevents people being attracted to it.Tuesday, 30 November 2010
