With the British music magazine industry on a steady decline, with a majority of people able to access the information they want via the internet. Only a few magazines have a half decent readership left, e.g the NME stats above. 10 years ago the Music Magazine industry thrived with each of the big magazines NME, Kerrang e.c.t all achieving over a 100,000 copies in circulation and over a 1,000,000 in readership numbers. But as the current NME stats above suggest, these numbers have decrease in the last 10 years by over half. with only a few half a million dedicated readers who purchase the magazine every week.
Also as the stats also helps reinforce that the main readership ages that are aimed at are between 17 and 30. as this is where most of the dedicated music fans are. This may explain why the industry has gone down hill in the last 10 years. As this generation of music fan has more access to the internet than ever before, it means they don't have to go out and pay for the information they can get it online for free.
