Analysis of a Music Magazine Contents Page
This contents page has roughly the same kind of lay-out and style that its front cover would use. The layout is centred around 6 key images each with their own caption, this is so that the audience can easily find and identify what interests the, it also help identify the features for this issue, such as interviews and posters e.c.t layout used for the column area of the contents page is simple, with bold headings keeping the description to a simple minimum. The colours used are the magazines signature colours, e.g. the Yellow text of a black background are the key features that make the magazine recognisable. The pictures that have been used are taken professionally and relate to key articles within the magazine. The images are placed and sized in a certain way that the reader is drawn towards the main article in this issue, then scanning round it to the smaller images to some lesser articles in this issue. The use of text on the page is kept to a minimum and is only used if necessary, e.g. a caption or for the list of contents, the page is not filled with any other text than what is need. With the amount of text and images placed onto the page it allows for quick and effective navigation by the reader and so does not make the reader sit through endless amounts of text in order to find one article.
